Welcome Day: Benefits orientation
Welcome to the University of Washington and congratulations on the new job! As a UW employee, you receive an excellent benefits package that includes an array of health plan options, generous retirement plans, life insurance coverage, and many other benefits.
Welcome Day introduces the UW Employee Benefits package, including retirement plan options, and gives you the opportunity to receive guidance and ask questions about your benefits selections. Since most enrollment deadlines fall within 31 days of an employee’s eligibility date, you are urged to attend Welcome Day during your first few weeks of employment:
At orientation, you’ll get help choosing plan and coverage options. Get a head start by exploring the Benefits website before orientation.
But don’t delay — you’ve got important benefit decisions ahead and only a short time to make them. Please watch for an email containing information about your benefits package. You must enroll by your deadline or you will be defaulted into certain elections. So register now, and begin taking full advantage of all your benefits here at the UW.
