Meet this year’s fantastic team of Campaign Assistants!
Every year, the UWCFD welcomes a tiny but terrific team of campaign assistants who provide the support our volunteers need to make your annual workplace giving campaign happen.
Join us in welcoming this year’s team!
Betsy Mugavero
Betsy is thrilled to be back on the UWCFD campaign assistant team! Last year she happily connected with many enthusiastic UW employees and cannot wait to do the same this season. With so many worthy causes to support, Betsy is entering this campaign season with knowledge, experience and fun ideas to make all of your workplace giving goals a reality.
As a professional theater actor and director for 20 years, Betsy had the great fortune of working as a part-time faculty member at the UW School of Drama in the Spring 2024 semester — meeting and working with Husky students in the classroom was paws-down one of the greatest joys of her professional career. You can see Betsy performing locally on stage in early 2025.
Sarah Erickson
A proud alumna of the University of Washington’s Creative Writing MFA program, Sarah Erickson is thrilled to be back at UW to assist with the 2024 Combined Fund Drive. She brings 20 years of project management and marketing experience to the program and a passion for helping people connect with their values.
Sarah enjoys taking long walks and getting garden inspiration wherever she goes.
Emma Ueda
As a UW alum and Seattle native, Emma is excited to be getting more involved in the community! She has spent the past four years at Amazon, where she worked in program management and marketing, bringing innovative solutions to customer-facing products. With a strong foundation in working with people to enhance user experiences and collaborate on creative projects, she is eager to apply her skills to the UWCFD, supporting the many nonprofits involved in this year’s campaign.
In her free time, Emma enjoys exploring Seattle’s vibrant food scene and discovering new spots to feature on her social media brand platforms. Whether networking with new people at local events or enjoying a quiet moment at one of the city’s trendy coffee shops, she finds inspiration in the city’s energy and community spirit.
We are thrilled to welcome Betsy, Sarah and Emma to our team and to celebrate our 40th Anniversary with them!
About the UWCFD campaign
The 2024 UWCFD campaign — our 40th anniversary! — kicks off October 16. Discover ways to get involved here!
Past UWCFD featured nonprofits include the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Seattle, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Low Income Housing Institute, Northwest Harvest, Summit Assistance Dogs and Be The Match.
Each organization benefited from the increased visibility of being featured by the UWCFD — as well as a healthy boost in one-time and annual donations from UW faculty, staff and retirees.
