Lunch & Learn: Nonprofits in your Neighborhood

An urban street scene under a "University Ave" signThere are thousands of nonprofit organizations affiliated with the UW Combined Fund Drive. Some great examples are serving the community in and around Seattle’s U District.

Join the UW Combined Fund Drive at noon on August 20 for an inspiring, virtual lunch & learn highlighting the incredible work of nonprofit organizations right in our backyard — the greater U District neighborhood. This event will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about the resources each organization brings to the community and discover ways that you can get involved for the greater good.

In this session, you’ll hear from leaders at three dedicated organizations:

  • Solid Ground – working to end poverty and undo racism and other oppressions that are root causes of poverty. Learn about their mission to support housing and family stability, helping families thrive.
  • University District Food Bank – building a hunger-free Northeast Seattle, the U District Food Bank provides reliable access to healthy food and life-changing resources to the community.
  • Teen Feed – collaborates with the community to meet the basic needs of houseless youth and support them in their journey to a future off the streets.

Each speaker will introduce the work of their organization for approximately 10 minutes, followed by a Q&A session where you can ask questions and engage with these passionate leaders.

Don’t miss this chance to connect with local nonprofits, gain valuable insights and find out how you can contribute to their missions and support your community. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make our community stronger!
