CLASS SERIES CONCEPT

Within the Institute for Health Metrics Evaluation (IHME) Organizational Development and Training (ODT) team, carry out administrative and logistical aspects of employee education and training and of the Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship (PBF) fellowship program at IHME.

BASIC FUNCTION

Carry out programs and events for IHME ODT.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general supervision, lead the process for coordinating the ongoing, continual new employee onboarding and training processes. Maintain and utilize the Institute’s learning management system in order to ensure IHME staff are receiving the required trainings and that instructors are well prepared and supported both in preparation for their training and during it. In collaboration with HR, coordinate and support volunteers and interns.

TYPICAL WORK

Serve as an ambassador for the IHME internal training efforts;

Schedule all internal trainings, manage and oversee training logistics, gathering course feedback and providing classroom support as needed;

Ensure that staff are registered for the trainings they need to do their jobs and monitor whether each has completed their trainings;

Cultivate and maintain detailed knowledge of IHME’s internal training curricula as well as external training options endorsed or recommended by IHME. Serve as a resource to IHME staff and supervisors when it comes to understanding what trainings are available and appropriate for their role;

Manage the process for routine evaluation of internal trainings and facilitate the incorporation of the information gained from them to make improvements;

Develop and maintain the ODT intranet, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and structured to provide maximum utility to IHME; work with each member of the ODT team to develop informational materials aligned with overall IHME policies;

Develop and maintain certificates for specific IHME courses and help to ensure the correct individuals receive opportunities for certification;

Become and stay familiar with the IHME training pipeline, including trainings under development or in need of updates, and actively communicate with the Learning & Development team;

Manage budgets for ODT and organization-wide events; managing events from conception, gather and prepare content and materials, manage vendor relationships, dealing with complex logistics for participants;

Working with IHME HR, coordinate and support volunteers and interns;

Support and actively contribute to organizing the logistics of the Post-Bachelor Fellowship training program;

Organize and schedule and code drop-in hours;

Set up training rooms for key trainings;

Work with outside parties who use IHME meeting rooms; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instructional Designer, Organizational Development or Related plus two years of work experience.

OR

Equivalent combination of education/experience.
