BASIC FUNCTION
Supervise technical/clerical staff in assigned purchasing/inventory control duties.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, train new employees, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action.
Monitor placement of orders, prepare reports related to unit performance.
TYPICAL WORK
Recommend actions to resolve unsatisfactory vendor performance;
Determine and take necessary action to maintain required stock during periods of delayed stock receipts, misdirected shipments, and quality control;
Monitor placement of orders;
Prepare reports related to unit performance;
Perform duties of Order Service Coordinator;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or GED AND four years of experience in inventory control or equivalent. One year of college course work may substitute for one year of work experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
