DEFINITION
Review and evaluate business and report forms; coordinate the development and procurement of new forms; provide consultation to managers in the solution of forms management problems.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This class is distinguished by major emphasis on the analysis and design of forms.
TYPICAL WORK
Analyze existing forms; prepare improved versions; evaluate new requirements; prepare draft forms and coordinate with user; prepare corrected draft for copy;
Evaluate cost comparison between internal production and outside procurement of forms; determine quantities to order, delivery dates, and inventory levels for reorder points;
Write form specifications and distribution instructions; write purchase requests and furnish sample to be printed with request;
Coordinate development of artwork and proofs; review proofs for accuracy and quality; obtain approval of proofs from using department; review plates, negatives, and artwork; on approval, send to printer; review completed order for accuracy, quality, and quantity;
Maintain files and records on old and new forms; record revisions; maintain form numbering systems, note procurement sources; maintain forms catalogs and form samples;
Serve as forms consultant to using departments; provide information, samples, and informational material; attend meetings; act as resource specialist on forms development and procurement;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, industrial engineering or a closely-related field; AND one year of experience in forms design work of forms management. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year-for-year, for required education.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
