BASIC FUNCTION
Clean carpets by operating a mobile, truck-mounted steam extractor and other power equipment.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Single class — no series.
TYPICAL WORK
Clean carpets using truck-mounted steam extractors and other power equipment;
Maintain activity log;
Schedule areas for cleaning as needed;
Participate in periodic training in use of chemicals, other supplies, and in carpet and upholstery fabric cleaning;
Maintain inventory of equipment and products; submit reports on labor and material costs;
Perform minor mechanical maintenance on carpet cleaning equipment;
May clean upholstery;
May perform occasional custodial duties;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six months’ custodial experience. A valid Washington State Driver’s License may be required. Physical ability to do required work.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
