BASIC FUNCTION

Operate high-speed copying equipment.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Second-level class of series. Under general supervision, operate high-speed analog and/or digital copy equipment. Run complex copier jobs.

TYPICAL WORK

Assist Copy Center Coordinator or Supervisor with the daily operations of a copy center;

Receive and fill copy orders from clients;

Assist clients with networked printers at the copy center;

Receive and fill requests for copy work;

Scan, produce, assemble and deliver completed work;

Operate cash register; maintain records of accounts to be charged;

Clean, and make minor repairs to machines; report needed machine repairs and supply items;

Keep records of production and supplies;

May perform minimal file manipulation or assist clients in manipulation of electronic files to prepare them for copying and/or production;

May perform clerical duties;

May operate other machines, such as high-speed digital copy machines, digital color copy machines or small bindery equipment;

May direct the work of others, including hourly or student employees;

Perform the work of a Copy Center Operator 1;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduation or GED certificate plus six months of experience in a high-speed photocopy production environment.
