BASIC FUNCTION
Provide copy service through the operation and maintenance of copy machines such as photocopy, microfilm and microfiche copiers.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under general supervision, responsible for the operation of copy machine(s) and production of copy requests. Receive, prioritize and fill copy work requests, record and prepare billings, and prepare required reports. Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others; train and assist others in copy machine operation.
TYPICAL WORK
Receive orders for copy work; assign priorities; maintain records and prepare billing for services rendered;
Clean machines, check performance, and make minor repairs and adjustments; schedule maintenance and service calls;
Requisition supplies and equipment;
Maintain records and prepare required reports;
Maintain communications with staff and users regarding copy reproduction; offer recommendations to clients for finished copy products;
May be responsible for a small copy center producing fewer than 200,000 copies per month;
Perform duties of Copy Machine Operator;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or GED certificate AND six months of experience in office machine operation, or equivalent.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
