BASIC FUNCTION
Lead assigned data control personnel and perform complex data control tasks.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Single class – no series. Under general direction, lead assigned data control personnel and independently perform complex data control tasks such as assigning priorities for computer system schedules, analyzing data control resource requirements of jobs and systems, adjusting schedules to obtain optimum equipment and personnel utilization, analyzing job summary reports, determining corrective action and developing and adjusting master data control schedule.
TYPICAL WORK
Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of employees;
Analyze, implement and maintain system documentation or data control procedures;
Write staging procedures and flow charts;
Consult with Systems Analysts/Programmers and users during turnover of new systems to data control to review operating characteristics to determine system resource requirements and compliance with standards;
Modify job control language to accommodate requirements specific to the computer application being processed;
Assist in defining and developing user documentation standards;
Assist in maintaining the documentation library;
May assist supervisor with performance evaluations;
May perform the duties of Data Control Technician III;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One year of full-time experience as a Data Control Technician III, or equivalent.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
