CLASS SERIES CONCEPT
Design, create, direct, produce and edit recorded and/or live audio-video/ television programs.
BASIC FUNCTION
Direct crew and cast during rehearsal and performance of live or recorded audio-video/television programs.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under general supervision, direct recorded and/or live audio-video/television programs and material.
TYPICAL WORK
Participate in planning for production of television and audio-video materials which may include assisting in developing content by providing information on production requirements and capabilities and developing production scripts from concepts and content outlines provided by resource people;
Assist in the organizing and directing phases of the production process such as rehearsing and directing performers and production crews and coordinating audio work, scenes, music, timing, graphics, camera work, and script;
Direct assigned audio or television programs;
Provide technical advice to students, faculty, and staff on proper use of television and audio equipment;
Assure proper usage of a wide variety of complex television and audio recording equipment;
Direct editing of television and audio recordings;
Assist in training crew members in the operation of audio-video recording equipment;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree with major field of study in television production, communications, or instructional media; AND one year of experience in television production, audio production, instructional design or related field OR equivalent education/experience.
