BASIC FUNCTION

Perform routine photographic laboratory and darkroom work.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Single class – no series. Develop and process film.

TYPICAL WORK

Mix chemicals and prepare developing solutions;

Develop negatives and prints;

Process photographic film in all formats;

Enlarge and print pictures on a photo enlarger;

Operate slide mounting equipment;

Develop medical x-rays;

Identify, label and file negatives, slides, photographs and films;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six months of experience in a photographic related area.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
