CLASS SERIES CONCEPT
Design, develop, compile and write reports presenting complex research data regarding students, instructional offerings, faculty, finance, budget, operations, and other characteristics.
BASIC FUNCTION
Perform entry-level professional research work on various characteristics.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
First-level class of series. Under general supervision follow standard plans, methods and procedures to assist in conducting research activities and complete projects.
TYPICAL WORK
Assist in conducting projects by data gathering and analysis, preparing reports, and designing survey questionnaires;
Analyze computer reports; prepare material for presentation and publication;
Check data for completeness and accuracy; code, summarize and mathematically compute statistical summaries using mainframe or microcomputer software;
Identify, collect and assemble research data for project requirements; download data sets from institutional mainframes;
Compose correspondence to provide or request information;
Meet with survey respondents; explain purpose of survey and provide instruction on questionnaires;
Work with programmers, systems analysts, budget analysts and other personnel to coordinate activities;
Participate in meetings to assist in developing methodology;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree including college-level course work in statistics or one year of work experience in statistics, analysis, or research
