BASIC FUNCTION
Perform fully qualified professional Research Analyst work to design and coordinate complex research activities regarding various characteristics.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Journey-level class of series. Under general direction perform independent development, implementation and coordination of research projects and activities.
TYPICAL WORK
Solicit, compile, analyze and summarize reports in support of institutional and unit research;
Design and perform various complex statistical analyses involving characteristics such as student, instruction, faculty, financial, budgetary, departmental, etc;
Participate on committees and task forces to contribute to group’s objectives and university policy goals;
Participate in the coordination of project requirements for computer programming and data processing presentation;
Compile data from existing data files to create historical and current computer data bases; down load data from institutional mainframes to microcomputers; utilize application software to create reports for faculty, administrators, and outside agencies;
Compile narrative reports, develop tables, charts, graphs and illustrations;
May direct the work of others;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree including college-level course work in statistics AND one year of work experience as a Research Analyst I
