BASIC FUNCTION
Perform complex tasks related to the provision of telecommunication services.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Independently perform complex tasks such as analyzing client needs for revised and/or new telecommunications equipment and systems, assisting in the design of new systems and evaluating completed equipment and service installation.
TYPICAL WORK
Receive internal coordination documents describing user requests for reconfiguration of and/or new additions to telephone equipment and services. Analyze user requirements and recommend solutions;
Prepare detailed specification documents for acquisition of appropriate vendor equipment and services;
Evaluate completed installations of equipment and services to ensure adequate functioning and user satisfaction;
Maintain familiarity with current technological developments in the telecommunications industry;
Assist in the design of new systems;
May perform duties of Telecommunications Analyst I;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of experience as a Telecommunications Analyst I or equivalent. Two years of college or accredited telecommunication training may substitute for up to one year of experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
