CLASS SERIES CONCEPT
Within the Institute for Health Metrics Evaluation (IHME), provide editorial and administrative support for the effective tracking, presentation, and communication of research.
BASIC FUNCTION
Provide editorial and administrative publication support to assigned research team.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under general supervision, for assigned research team, track publications, make updates to relevant lists, websites, and databases with the release of new papers; manage research team’s website to keep it up to date and to provide timely notification to the public of research achievements. Prepare and proofread large lists of authors and affiliations to meet journal specifications. Review manuscripts for consistency and formatting for specific journals. Ensure conformance of correspondence, memos, and other written materials to policy and style standards; proofread outgoing correspondence for procedural, grammatical, and factual accuracy; call all deviations and inaccuracies to the attention of the writer.
TYPICAL WORK
Perform editorial support and administration work for research published by IHME by tracking publications in relevant systems when new research papers are released;
Manage the website of an assigned research team;
Review manuscripts for consistency and formatting, prepare and proofread author and affiliation lists per journal specifications;
Proofread outgoing correspondence for procedural, grammatical, and factual accuracy and calling all deviations and inaccuracies to the attention of the writer;
Assist with tracking and sending communications, including notifications about upcoming deadlines;
Reply to general inquiries internally and externally;
Manage relationships with external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
Maintain team lists and aid in team transitions, including updating relevant email lists, meeting invitations, tracking forms;
Attend and prepare meeting agendas for internal and external meetings;
Provide mentoring and training to other team members to help them with relevant tasks, to show them how to learn new skills, and to help resolve emerging problems on different projects;
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences or related field, plus one year of related experience,

Equivalent combination of education/experience.
