CLASS SERIES CONCEPT

Within the UW Libraries, provide professional level programmatic direction and control in support of specific libraries programs.

BASIC FUNCTION

Direct or control programs or events for UW Libraries.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general supervision, utilize specialized knowledge to make decisions and exercise independent judgment for a specific program or subject library, such as but not limited to accessibility, non-cash gifts, purchasing, grants, or online learning support. Allocate program or subject area library resources, establish policies, methods and procedures and ensure compliance with institutional and library policies and regulations.

TYPICAL WORK

Develop and maintain oversight for small-scale specific program events and services, which may include implementing strategic short- and long-term goals, initiatives, projects, and program plans;

Perform analysis using specialized knowledge of program area to deliver continuous process improvement;

Establish and implement program policies and procedures; maintain oversight and ensure compliance;

Manage affiliated budgets and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures;

Serve as the central resource for general program related questions.

Supervisory Responsibilities.
Where positions have supervisory responsibilities, the supervision exercised is typically of hourly or contract classified staff; may supervise classifications such as Library Supervisor I or II.

May create and deliver marketing and communications relative to program initiatives and events; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 2 years of work experience.

OR

Equivalent combination of education/experience.
