Ujima Sands, Assistant Vice President, Total Talent ManagementMESSAGE FROM THE AVP

In Total Talent Management I have the pleasure of overseeing more than 30 wonderfully talented individuals who collaborate and innovate across three dynamic, interconnected teams. From sourcing, hiring and onboarding new employees to managing and developing staff and teams, we provide guidance and strategic tools to help with talent acquisition, acceleration, engagement and retention every step of the way (view a detailed TTM framework).

We participate in job fairs across the region, partner with hiring managers across the academy, provide tools and training for employee onboarding, and foster staff development, career growth and retention. We also provide tools, training, coaching and consulting to assist with leadership, team and organizational development.

In addition, under my strategic direction and in alignment with UWHR’s values and priorities, staff and leaders in UWHR develop tools, training and programs to advance diversity, equity and inclusion within UWHR and at the University of Washington.

In short, in Total Talent Management we strive to ensure that UW’s reputation as an employer parallels its reputation as a world-class University. We look forward to partnering with you in these efforts.

Best,

Ujima Sands, M.Ed., CPC, NLPP
Assistant Vice President
